Free, Reduced Meal Applications will be Required for 2022-2023 School Year

Free and Reduced Applications Will be Required for 2022-2023 School Year

Moving forward, all students eligible for free or reduced school meals will be required to have a new application on file to receive free or reduced meals in the 2022-2023 school year. Because the application process does not begin until July, the USDA does provide a 30-day grace period from the first day of school for free/reduced meals for any student who CURRENTLY HAS A 2021-2022 APPLICATION ON FILE.

If you have a 2021-2022 application on file with KCS’s Food & Nutrition Services Department, your child will be eligible for free/reduced meals for the first 30 days of next school year, until you are able to complete a new 2022-2023 application.

If you do not have a current application on file and you feel your child is eligible for free/reduced meals, you can complete the 2021-2022 application now, and your child will be eligible for free/reduced meals for the first 30 days of next school year, until you are able to complete the new 2022-2023 application.

Qualifying for free/reduced meals by completing the application process also qualifies the student for fee waiver and other community programs.

The free and reduced Meal Application link will be added here to the district website when it becomes available.
